Hi,
i have a problem distributing the sound from a HDMI input (STB, Technisat) to my Besound 9000 via ML.
Analogue sound e.g. TV is working well but not from any device connected through HDMI.
I have read, that digital sound cannot be distributed to ML devices. However, is there a solution to use the analogue sound simultanously with HDMI?
Some Beovision 7 owners have connected both, HDMI or DVI and analogue, is this the same for a Beovision 8?
Can i use the red and white cinch connector from AV3 and configure this port for DTV and with HDMI?

Not sure what the problem is... I listen to my BV8 via ML quite often, and the source is from a Xfinity set top box connected via HDMI. Press 'TV' on my Beo4 and any other ML device plays whatever the TV is playing.
Maybe there is a difference between the US and European models (actually, I know there was a difference, but I'm not exactly sure of the details).

On mine I cannot get hdmi source sound on ML (I'm using a Bellini nl/ml converter but that shouldn't change anything), I was thinking that sound cannot be distributed if you're using a HDCP enabled source, because of copy protection rights...

Sound could definately not distributed digital from HDMI to ML
I don't know how Stan got this working. TV turns on the TV-Tuner and this is distrubuted to ML but no sound from sources connected to HDMIon my 8-32.
It is not a rights problem, it is a technical limitation. You will have to convert or extract PCM Soundfrom HDMI to analogue, since ML is analogue only.
But the solution was quite simple: We will need an additional connection for the sound either from a HDMI to RCA stereo sound extractor box or
from the setupbox directly in case it provides extra sound through SCART or additional RCA ports.
The Technisat has these RCA ports and i connected them to the RCA input (AV3).
So my STB is now connected with HDMI and AV3 sound input and everything is working now!
