Had a very pleasant morning at B&O Newcastle - they had a very generous offer where they will fix  faulty Beo4 remotes - they kindly replaced the displays on two of mine. I also ordered one of the brass Beosound 2s and was impressed with the new remote - considering a brass finish one of those as well!

If you live in the North, Newcastle are always most welcoming and make a fine cup of coffee! Very interestingly laid out showroom with lots of space and knowledgeable staff.

But it's in Newcastle Peter. Newcastle!

Would they consider moving the store?

Newcastle is a wonderful city - just the right size and is used by many companies for trying out products as it lends itself to marketing research. Is only 3 hours to London and just over an hour to Edinburgh. No traffic compared to the south and Northumberland is wild and unspoiled with plenty of heritage. And it is also very friendly up here! People talk to you and help you when they don't know you! The store has the same ethos. They also cover a large area and seem very skilled in all sorts of installations. Maybe worth a trip, and there is a good Japanese restaurant almost next door!

I spent most of my childhood there :)

[EDIT: in Newcastle, not the Japanese restaurant, clearly]

I have for the last year tried to learn how to pronounce this properly. According to my father-in-law whose from Darlington, you're supposed to say it in one complete syllable not two like "Nuuuuuucasuhl"not "New Castle".

.

Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.

Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.

I'm from Darlington and I'd always say "New castle" (said quickly though). Or, as my younger brother said, "News castle".

To be fair though, I rarely could understand what the Geordies were saying to me, so don't take my word on this 😳

Allow me to qualify my entry - I'm from Durham, (18 miles away but still not an official Geordie, but an oft visitor to the temple that dominates the city skyline that is St. James Park, where I hear everything from southern softies like myself to guttural, unintelligible animal noises from Northumberland)Laughing.
