Hello Beoworlders,

Long time no see. Somehow my beovirus desease stopped for a while, was more into barbecuing ;o)

Anyway, I ended up bidding on Ebay on a Beovision 6-26 + Motorized stand and (un)fortunatly won the auction for 150€ working condition (yet to be checked). So a TV for the bedroom.

I now need a reciever to be ready to go. As I would like to operate that via BEO4 Remote, I assume I have to check 1st the PUC list and then buy the according Receiver.

Having said that, would I need to purchase something else? Sometimes I see an IR Cable - eihter with 3,5mm jack or RJ45 connector?!? Do I need to plug it in the TV or does this go into the Receiver???? There was nothing comming with the TV, so I am a Little lost.

Help is appreciated.

Best Regards,

Markus

You are right, you need a 3,5 mm jack to IR cable.

Check the supported boxes first and go from there.

If you are able to solder, than make it your own.

Buy an ir transmitter diode, nearly every type possible

a resistor 270 or 330 Ohm

3,5 mm Jack mono.

Solder the Anode to the inner  pin, the kathode to the outer pin with the resistor.

Thats all for 3 bucks.

If your box will have an ir extention port you can make an 'optical' cable for direct connection.

Technisat from Germany uses a simple TSOP 38Khz  receiver, the front ir port is still accessible.

I can post the correct connections, if needed.

As mentioned above select the box in respect to the installed PUC table.

So you need not an extra update from your dealer.

Okay, this might be getting more tricky than expected ;o(

I checked connections - there I find set top box rather than PUC. The pieces listen there show besides some boxes for satelite, which I like to use, also Items for Cable..... All items seem quite old and I am Note sure, if that will work, as I assume, I am already at S2 at home and not sure, if these items listed arme DVBS- i seem to have that installed anyway in the TV.

Can I just buy a technisat s1 and be Lucky to controll via Beo4?

Thanks in Advance,

Sometimes you loose, sometimes you'll win. Seems like Jackpot for me - DVBS was installed and I do not need to spend any additional penny ;o)

thanks for your hints anyway!

Hi,

a Technisat S1 can be controlled by Beo4 if you have TEC.DIGI or TEC. digicorder in your list, something like this with (TEC.), at least basic functions will work.
