I have a piece of kit which was made by B&O which has a loose connection which renders it not very useful - I wonder if anyone fancies a challenge in tracing and fixing the fault - I have replaced it with a later model which is not as good. I attach the user manual!!

Mmmmmm.......looks like a stethoscope to me ;-)
Peter:Does the challenge involve guessing which piece of kit it is?
That would be too easy!
It sure is a stethoscope, that B&O built with/for 3M Healthcare some 15 years ago.
Stethoscopes are also about acoustics, a core expertice of B&O.
They had a seperate factory and a seperate company for these things - Medicom, founded in 1989.
The stethoscopes sold very well and were awarded - they also made other medical products such as inhalers and automatic syringes
Most of the company was sold off in 2006 to Maj Invest - B&O concentrating more on the A/V products.
In 2015 the last part was sold and the company was renamed, now Medicom Innovation Partner.
The company is currently owned by PhillipsMediseze.
You can still see the building, when you approach Struer from the south-east.
I have no idea what happens in the building today, although I often wonder when passing by - looks pretty empty, but probably isn't.
The company is doing well and has expanded abroad.
But Peter cwrtainly was asking for more technical help!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
oh, i didn't see the pdf.
I've spent lots of time with Littmanns, me and most everyone I work with use them. Being in St Paul, I live very close to 3M and know a few engineers from there and even an electronic engineer who worked with Littmann. Thanks MM for the info, I had no idea B&O was involved with Littmann, so cool. Right now I've been working on using an electronic stethoscope with a bluetooth transmitter to a bluetooth receiver for use in our Special Pathogens Containment unit. I've even used my Beoplay A2 with the setup. I'd be up for the challenge if someone closer isn't.
It is indeed the Littmann 4100WS - I have replaced it by the 3200 which has some advantages but the sound quality is not as good - the 4100 has a loose connection between the headset and the mid section - the later model misses out the mid section and obviously uses more tubing. Thanks for the kind offer Peter but I think the customs would probably mean that this is simply not viable. B&O are mentioned in the development of the 4000, 4100 and 3000 but are not mentioned in the 3200 - must be after the take over I suppose. The 4100 is a wonderful device especially for someone becoming increasingly deaf.
Seeing this thread got my attention a little since my Dad retired from 3M back in 2009 and he was working on these Littmann's... I had him look over this thread and here's what he had to say:
We built the model 2000 which was completely a 3M design. New Ulm also built the model 3000 which was both 3M and B&O design. The model 4000 and 4100 were on the design table and prototypes being built when I retired. The 4000 and newer are completely built by B&O for 3M.
I'm sure this won't help your problem, but it's at least something interesting to know.
