I bought a Beocenter 2002 in about 1980. A few years ago the tape-deck failed. The radio and turntable have served me well until recently. As far as I know, they are OK in them selves but the amplifier has blown.
I live in Wales, UK.
Can anyone help? I want to know if I can get this fixed or how easy or difficult it would be to fix myself if it is possible to get the parts.
Tricky - the turntable is based on a Beogram but the rest of the device is Japanese and the amplifier uses a Hybrid chip rather than individual parts. It is difficult to find the parts required and the end result is probably not worth the cost. Instead, why not look for a replacement - will probably cost about the same and you can upgrade - If you are keen on a music centre that plays cassettes, LPs and radio, the Beocenter 700X cannot be beaten. If you would rather had a facility for CD, the Beocenter 9500 is in my opinion the best device ever made by B&O. Beautiful, powerful and the best operating controls ever.

Although these were made for B&O by our old friends the "Ying-Tong Tiddlipo Co",they did the job and got a lot of folk started with B&O at the time(you can never leave?)
Not wonderfull like genuine home grown B&O,but adequate for the money IMHO,and almost certainly repairable, including the tape deck!
I seem to remember that fuse protection was incorporated for the 'speakers,so best to look there first, and if blown, check the speaker connections of course.
The manual is probably available on this site,if you upgrade your membership(good value!)
Otherwise, check locally for a B&O enthusiast,or if you have a Dealer nearby, ask for contact details for their service techies. They may have an "old 'un" still on staff.

Further to earlier reply,I think there was a small hatch in the underside of the unit for access to the fuses?
The output chip is still available if in fact needed, and someone even makes a replacement amplifier module, which suggests demand?
If the pick up is still good in your unit,it's worth more on it's own of course!!
