Hello Christian!

I am extremely interested in hearing about everything you are currently working on, how many people you are and what your work credo is.

I have searched high and low for information about the presentation at SXSW. Could you shed some light on what was presented?

With relation to life-cycle enhancing passive speakers by adding an active PCB-module with Multiroom capability: how far along are you, and what can we expect?

How will you reach the consumers, via existing B&O stores or the internet? Do you plan for this to be DIY-work (soldering and setting up) or will you release modules to be retrofit either by oneself or a dealer?

I believe that giving life to legacy Bang & Plufsen products is an excellent (and almost necessary) vision.

What, in your view, is the most exciting product concept in the works, and how does one become a beta-tester, if at all possible?

I will let you go for now. Thanks a million!

Best regards,

Frederik (Stkong)

Hi Frederik (Stkong),

I'll try to answer some of your questions but I can't say 'everything'...

I am extremely interested in hearing about everything you are currently working on, how many people you are and what your work credo is.

I can't tell you everything I'm working on but my main task is to lead the design/concept direction for BeoCreate and our first project is ReCreate which is about up-cycling passive loudspeakers. I have a background in Industrial Design (my current title is Industrial Designer which only two people in the company have ever had) and we are a relatively small team involved in BeoCreate but very dedicated in our mission.

I have searched high and low for information about the presentation at SXSW. Could you shed some light on what was presented?

I'm not sure if we recorded that, however there is a video coming out soon where our Creative Strategist talks about BeoCreate and how we plan on working with community involvement etc. once we have it I'll share it here on BeoWorld.

With relation to life-cycle enhancing passive speakers by adding an active PCB-module with Multiroom capability: how far along are you, and what can we expect?

We are developing the PCB as we speak and we plan to launch the system in August/September sometime. You can expect the one of the most advanced DIY boards to create loudspeakers with compared to what's on the market today. We'll be offering more than twice the power output, more channels and access to DSP settings so you can load tuned sound settings from our acoustics team to configure a CX50/100 or RL45.2/60.2 which are the first models we are officially ReCreating. We have a goal of also being able to ReCreate a BeoVox Penta but we'll see how we manage that.

How will you reach the consumers, via existing B&O stores or the internet? Do you plan for this to be DIY-work (soldering and setting up) or will you release modules to be retrofit either by oneself or a dealer?

I can't disclose details about this yet, but we plan on this being a DIY solution (solder-less mind you).

What, in your view, is the most exciting product concept in the works, and how does one become a beta-tester, if at all possible?

Haha, well I think LEE has some insights from last week about a concept or two going on at Bang & Olufsen, again this is a subject I can't talk too much about but I definitely believe we at BeoCreate are working on some cool stuff you guys will enjoy. Regarding beta testing, we will be calling out for some beta testing once we have some prototypes but this is a very different project than what we usually do at B&O so we are looking for DIY people, Linux hobbyists, Raspberry Pi evangelists and of course some 'normal' people (if they exist anymore). If you're interested just send me a PM with some info about you and I'll get back to you once it becomes relevant (two three months from now).

Thank you for your questions and just keep posting if I've been too unclear about anything.

Cheers!

/Christian
