hi have been given a beovision 3-32 .can the beovision be connected to a cable network virgin media or a freeview box .plus which one off the scart sockets should I use ?thanks
You can connect to any of the 3 SCART sockets.
You then need to go into the BV3's MENU and find the connections menu. You have to name the socket with the option that you wish to select it with on your remote.
If you name one of the connections STB (Set Top Box) you will be presented with a list of STBs that are controllable with the Beovision's remote. To do this you will have to get hold of an IR transmitter cable to relay the signal to the STB.
To be honest, in order to get the full use of this TV it's worth having a read of the manual, still available free from B&O here: https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/product-support/Television/beovision-3-32
guy it did not come with a remote control I have a remote from my beocenter 9500 which will turn the set on and off but wondered if the remote from the cable or freebox would do the rest ?
Hi,
you can't use the freeview IR remote to control the TV. It needs a B&O remote.
If your Beocnter 9500 remote is an old Beolink 1000 the key 'menu' can be reached with 'Shift' and 'Text', if it's the Beolink 7000 you have to setup the Video components to 'One-Way' mode.

Buy a Beo 4 remote it will open up your ability to make the most of the TV. They can be found cheap sometimes on ebay or the like. The three scart connections actually vary. The "Decoder" scart does not have RGB (a connection that gives the optimal picture). Be sure to prioritise using either the AV / DVD scart connections, and as mentioned above you can setup this connection as "STB" in the TVs menu which then gives you a list of all the compatible boxes the TVs built in STB-C controller can communicate with using the Beo4 remote (with the additional IR-to-box cable accessory hooked up).
