Hi there, I'm a complete rookie when it comes to B&O, so please bear with me. : )  My father-in-law just died and he has a BeoSound system with speakers.  I can't work out what model it is though as it has no labels or tags on it anywhere - see attached image.  From what I can see by looking on sites such as this, it may be something like a BeoSound 3000 (or maybe a previous model) with perhaps BeoLab 2500 speakers attached to it so it's all in one piece.  Can someone help by telling me how I can accuraely identify this and roughly how much I should be trying to sell it for?  I'm happy to admit I have no idea on it so really appreciate any guidance you can give me.  cheers, Troy.  PS I'm in Australia if that makes any difference to this information.

Hi and welcome on Beoworld

The loudspeakers are effectively Beolab 2500.

To help us for the centre part, please post a closer picture of:

  • the keyboard (with something on the display),
  • the CD player without a CD,
  • the bottom left part of the center piece (to see if there is a small windows for the IR receiver).

For me, it looks like a Beosystem 2300 (in bad shape), the antenna and the doors are missing...

Hi CB and thanks very much for your reply.  Please see attached images as requested, hopefully this helps.  Yeah it needsa some cleaning up and I have the glass doors to re-attach.  One half of the antenna is there (hidden), the other half appears to have broken off.  cheers, Troy

Hmmmm

Because of the linear CD player rail, it may well be a pre 2001 "small clamper" BS3000

But I thought there was a touch to access N.Music?!?

And the IR window tells us it's a 2 ways system.

Someone else needs to answer...

It's am early 2300 because of the 2-way ir window.

BS3000 has the numerical pads in the middle in 2 columns.

I would say "late" BS 2300 then, early had the curved rail.

It is a Beocenter 2300. I have the same one and it was bought in 1995. Straight clamper and capable for two way.

You should test the sliding door mechanism with the doors attached.  It's quite possible they were removed because the mechanism is defective (if it works with the doors removed does not mean it will work with the doors attached due to the added weight).  It looks to be in pretty rough condition and with B&O, cosmetic condition is *very* important.   You don't have the remote control I assume.  Here in the States, worth maybe $400 if the doors work.

A bit of a long shot, but is there not a cable cover on the back that is covering where the label is? If you cannot see any of the connections sockets, they are behind a removable cover and the label should be behind there.
