Hello,

I'm new in BEO world.

I have a pair of Beolab 1, a Beolab 2, a pair of 8000 speakers and a Beosound 9000.

Now I've been adding a beosystem 3 and a beolab 7.4 to manage it all as a surround system.

I bought the beosystem 3 from a german seller, who sold it to me as new.

I've been plugging everything to my Panasonic plasma TX-P46G20E (or ES, I don't know), but nothing happens.

On Beosystem 3, once mains is plugged, a little green led turns on for a few seconds and then it turns off definitively.

TV set is plugged by a DVI-HDMI cable bought on Amazon.

I don't know what else to do, as on my TV set nothing appears.

I thank everyone who is willing to help me.

Bye.

It tries to recognize the screen, but fails to do so and shuts down - that is what I'd say.

You can try with a monitor of some type first and change the entry in the service menu somewhere to autodetect or similar.

I tried with 3 different TV sets and a 20" Apple Cinema Display.

Nothing ever appears.

I read that the yellow led should lamp and then become orange.

This doesn't even happen.

Is there any way to find if Beosystem 3 is on?

You do have connected the IR eye?

Changed the option setting to V.OPT = 1 so it reacts to video commands?

At first, two wires were disconnected in IR eye (the white and the yellow ones).

I fixed that and it started.

The LED turned green and then orange.

The TV set sensed the signal on HDMI/DVI port and I was able to select that source.

Nothing else happened.

After several minutes, I pushed MENU and the LED started blinking green/orange.

Nothing else happened and I had to switch mains.

Tried all different combinations of V.OPT and A.OPT, with different results, but the LED never came back orange.

Update: I disconnected the Beosound 9000 via Masterlink and let the Beosystem rest for half an hour.

It started and image appeared on the screen, asking me for PIN code.

After PIN insertion, it asked me for language and sources.

At this point, red light in IR eye turned off and I was not able to do anything else.

Had to disconnect mains than and, when booted and turned on, LED started flashing again green/orange.

I disconnected mains once again and I'll be waiting half an hour before rebooting.

Is this a normal behaviour?
