Hello,

My BS9000 MKI seems to have the CD block dead. Some questions:

-       How to be sure that this block is really dead ? (Disk don't start; we can hear the focus)

-       This unit is no more available by BEO. Is it available by other "reliable" source ?

-       What is the model (CDM, VAM,…). ?

-       Is this unit used on other BEO product (BS2500,…) ?

Thanks

Cheers

When you say "CD block dead" what exactly do you mean?

  • When you try and play a CD in any position does teh disc turn at all?
  • Is the word "pause" in the display?
  • Does the CD turn anti-clockwise for a short time after pressing play?

If the Laser is faulty, quite common, then the diode on teh board can be replaced.

Regards Keith....

Hi Keith,

- The disk doesn't turn at all (not ACW for a very short time) . Play is displayed after ~10 secondes "CD PAUSE"

thanks

if you look with the camera of your phone at the laser, you should be able to see the light, if you see nothing then the laser is dead.

OK, then the Laser diode has failed.

Whilst you cannot get any replacement laser boards from B&O, you can send the board away to mark@av-repairs.com who will replace teh laser diode for you. Contact him to get a price for the repair.

Thanks Keith,

2 questions more:

- Is this laser used in other BEO products? If yes, in which one ?

- What is the latest Firmware version for the MKI (IC8 or IC 1 ?) ?

Thanks
