Sent a 40 year old cartridge to Franz Schulte in Germany.  The item was working but I thought due to age it was best to have it serviced.  He repaired and returned.  It doesn't play at all now.  No sound period.  I have written him twice since July 5 with no response.  I am not sure what to do at this point.  He stated it was "tested".  Is there a way for me to independently test w/o having to send it to someone else?  The receiver works well and all connections are solid.  Coincidence with a failure somewhere else?

Any thoughts would be appreciated and thanks.

If you have access to another cartridge you can use that to verify your audio system and connections are good. Then, when you install the cartridge that was worked on you would know any problems are due to it.

They don't offer a warranty on their service??  They should take it back immediately with no questions asked.  Soundsmith offers a 1-year warranty on service.

Thanks.  Unfortunately, I don't have another.
