Hi All
In my pursuit of collecting a complete 4500 system in perfect condition, I now am fixing a pair of BL4500's.
Both speakers and display "works", they are connected with 2 fully wired BL5 power link cables, that work fine with my Penta MK3's. They are set correct to R/L and the dimply is set to AUDIO.
Here is the issue.
If I attach power cable to speakers, they both turn on. That is, no red std.by light, both relays are clicking and the speaker is on.
If I attach a power link cable connected to a BM4500 in std.by, then both speakers start clicking and turning the red std.by light on/off, after some time, they both turn on, but with no sound since the BM4500 is off.
When they turn on "without signal" the display is NOT on.
If I press radio, both speakers turn on, display also turns on, shows correct source and volume, and the radio channel is heard fine.
Mute and volume up/down works without problems.
All this leads me to believe that both processors and the amplifier works like they should, but somehow the detection of the signal is going wrong.
The funny thing, is that without PL connected, the speaker thinks it should be on, and with PL cable connected, it switches between on/off.
I have had one speaker disassembled, and re-soldered all solder points, no where it looked like there was bad solderings, and it also did not made any difference.
I can hear and feel the master relay RL101 is doing the clicking, and this relay is connected directly to the power pin at the processor, so I guess the processor gets confused.
Since both speakers behave the same, I suspect a bad component in both.
Any ideas ?

Ok, maybe I am lucky..
Did not have any MK2 cables lying around, but found a piece of MK2 wire, and decided to solder DIN connections on it just to try it out.
And it actually seems that the issue is not there with a "proper" MK2 cable ? This is kind of weird I think. The BL5 fully wired cable causes the problem, the thicker fully wired MK2 cable does not ?
Can it really be noise or bad shielding in the BL5 wire ? Or maybe there are differences in connections, I will do a pin-to-pin measurement.
But since they work with my Penta's it puzzles me.
