Hi Fansastic,
If you are just extending the wires mid-way, then any 2-core passive speaker wires can be used. If you are wanting to add new cable at either the subwoofer (where special plugs are used) or at one of the satellite speakers (where the access is quite narrow) then using the correct slim wires with fitted plugs is a good idea:-
