Hi just wondering if you guys have any advice on the best way to pack a pair of penta active speakers for shipping from the UK to Spain. They will be coming over with household items after we move.

They are my pride and joy and I want to make sure they arrive in one piece.

thanks. : )

Welcome to Beoworld.

It partially depends on what they will be travelling in?  A private car you may be driving over with your family and other smaller stuff or in a removals van?

If you cab find original transport boxes (were available from B&O) that would be safest.  If not; in a car, lay them flat on there backs with lots of padding (duvets, pillows etc) underneath and around the sides to stop them rolling.

If in a removal van, you could make some custom plywood boxes to put them in with some packing material and pack them upright strapped in well so they don't fall over.  I'd want to move them myself I must admit and not rely on a shipper who won't appreciate your pride and joy.

Dave.

Thanks Dave. The way I feel about them is that I would carry them  over on my shoulders as a foot passenger if I didn't have to drive. Unfortunately no room in the car. They would have to stick out the sunroof  anyway as they couldn't lay flat. I'll see if I can get se original transport boxes  otherwise I'll buy some quits and plywood. I wonder if I can get hold of some plastic pipe wid enough to go over the bases. I could wrap them in quilts and then slide a pipe over the top and actually plastic weld ends on. Put some handles on the pipe that would stop the removals guys destroying them.

Thanks again.

Have two original boxes incl. the styrofam packing. I can tell you, these boxes are huge.

I made up two plywood boxes and wrapped my Lab1s in bubble wrap and took them to France.

If you are moving house its more hassle but they are not making these speakers any more so make up the boxes.

The movers are (mostly) professionals so explain how you want them moved and mark which way up etc.
