I'm currently giving my newly aquired BC9500 some much needed tender loving care. The seller informed me that it's been in storage for a number of years; excellent exterior condition and basic functions, but the CD mechanism needs and will eventuially receive attention. This is my first encounter with any B&O equipment, and I've already picked up a great deal of information from the forum here.
First task will be re-attachement of the glass displays to their holders. After soaking the plastic holders in general cleaning alcohol for 15mins, the old adhesive strips were removed with ease. However, recognizing that the glass displays have a special coating, I'd like some advise on what solvent to use - if any - for the removal of the adhesive strips without damage.
Secondly, could someone please advise from where I can obtain drive belts for the tapedeck (old version) & CD drive. And also a kit of caps. The model is type 2506 with 1.2 s/w.

I've just finished repairs on a beocenter 8000; I believe the cassette mechanism of the 9500 is equal.

Member Dilan can help with a capacitor set, I think.

There are also sellers in portugal and the UK - just search on e-bay.
I finished repairs on a beocenter 8000 - it is likely the tape mechanisms are similar.
For removing the strips on the glass panels I used a nail polish remover (aceton) with succes, allthough I also removed small pieces of the coating. So don't soak the complete panel, but carefully brush the sticky parts only. With black nail polish I repaired the removed coating.
Also check the drivebelts for the sliding doors - they may also be worn.
