Hello everyone,

We have a problem.  We have in our kitchen a beosound 4 with the beolab 3 (working fine) in our bathroom we a beolab 3500 have worked always fine until my wife has taken of the dust of it.  She took of the dust with a cloth and something appeared on the screen,(she don't remember what it was, but think it had to do with timer of mute.) then the speaker stopped playing. she took the remote and touched all different buttons on it.

of course nothing happend, total silence.

I saw on the screen of the beolab 2 dots, on in the timer section and one in the main centre.

have been able to turn off the timer dot, how don't know. now we only have one don't in the middle.

the only button on the beo4 that works/ give some reaction is the menu , then we see timer going on : screen shows us timer --:--  ,again menu on beo4 , turns beolab 3500 off again. but no sound, nothing.

what could it be?

thanks

arthur

Given that you say the only Beo4 key which seems to give any reaction is the menu key makes me think that your wife somehow did the combination of buttons to switch the input to the Beolab 3500 to MCL from Masterlink.

So, If correct, it means she may have entered the "Service Menu" so check by going back into the service menu.

To get into the service menu to switch between ML & MCL press MENU then MENU then 0 then 2 then PLAY, then use the up arrow to switch, then store

Hi arthur,

Simply powering off the Beolab 3500 for a minute or so will resolve most setup issues, as the speaker will reset itself.  Please wait for the speaker to display the clock time from the Beosound 4 when you power it on again before using it.  If this doesn't help, please let us know and we can assist further.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hello Keith,

thanks for the reaction.

I have tried this , but nothing happened.

I press menu on beo4  , now I see on screen of beolab 3500 (on - : --), then press again menu , now I see one red dot on screen of beolab 3500.  nothing is happening.

when I only press once menu and then 0 and 2  then  i'm adjusting some timer inside the timer on the beolab 3500. number in timer can be changed also with arrow up/down

sorry nothing changed

Can you please try again

press MENU then MENU again then 0 then 2 then OK

You should see ML OK in the display or if it has changed you will see MCL OK

Just in case the Beolab is in a funny state, press and hold the Standby key before doing the above

When you press the MENU the first time it is in the timer setting mode. Whilst in that mode pressing the Menu again takes you to the Service Menu

No idea in which mode it is in.  I only see ON -:-- , but this seems to be a timer menu.

Link Option?

Set it to 6 may be this will solve your problem.

Normally teh 3500  should show the time, please check your  ML connetcion. Take the connectors out and reinstall them on both sides (Beosound 4 as well)

Shutdown the Beosound 4 too. (Disconnect for 1 minute from mains)
