Hi,

I am a owner of the Avant 55 1st generation. I would like to buy the new fire TV. If I buy the new Beo ONE BT, is it possible to control the fire TV with the Bluetooth Beo Remote?

Thanks for your answer.

Mirco

Dear MircoHH,

Currently I use the amazon fireTV 4k with my Avant 55 1st gen. It is easy to control the device with the BeoRemote One.

Just buy a flirc usb dongle. Flirc learns from any remote control, not caring about different vendor protocols. Just download the setup software from flirc to your mac/PC and upload the amazon-firetv-setting-file provided from the flirc homepage on the flirc usb-dongle. This dongle is basically a universal IR receiver. Just plug in the dongle into the usb-port of the fireTV. Attach a PUC-cable to the back of the flirc-dongle, where the ir-eye is. Enter the menue on the Avant, go to sources and download the Amazon firetv (via IR receiver) puc-file for the HDMI-port where your fireTV is connected.

Now you can control your fireTV with the BeoRemote one. The Back-Button is for back and the yellow-button opens the options-menu.

Hope you will find this short manual usefull.

Cheers Beroli

You can pair different BT-devices for remote control in the amazon fireTV settings - but if you could pair the BeoRemote One BT with the amazon firetv directly, the firetv-device will react every time even if you are using a different source.

The new netflix and amazon buttons on the BeoRemote One 3rd gen will be supported with the BV Eclipse only. The solution, I have described in the post above by using a flirc-dongle will be much more stable and by far cheaper than buying a new Remote.

Hi Beroli,

thanks for your answer, but I already use the flirc dongle for my fire tv. I asked, because I would like to buy the new amazon fire tv 4K. And the new one has no USB port anymore.

cheers

Hi Mirco,

my mistake. I did not take the latest new fireTV in account.

But may I ask you why you don‘t buy the FireTV 4k (previous, 2nd Gen.)? The new fireTV comes without a ethernet port (you need a aditional adapter), without USB and without the ability to expand the storage. The previous version is still available, offers a better conectivity, supports 4K, UHD (more than enough for the Avant 55) and you could still use your flirc adapter.

The new firetv 4k is just a portable device for quick setup on the back of the TV. I still prefer the previous model. I can place it easily were I want to, the new firetv 4k just come with a short hdmi cable attached, no connectivity at all.

Hi Beroli,

I tried to order the "old" one, but in Germany it isn's available anymore. Maybe I have to look at eBay.

Cheers

Hi Mirco,

I've just read this:

http://www.aftvnews.com/amazon-fire-tv-3-supports-usb-peripherals-via-otg-cable-including-usb-drives-keyboards-mice-flirc-ethernet-hubs-etc/

Fire TV 3rd generation seems to have OTG-support - could this probably solve your problem?

All the best

Marc

Hi Mirco,

no need for that, just look out for „Amazon Fire TV, Zertifiziert und generalüberholt, mit 4K Ultra HD“ Amazon is selling the previous devices under refurbished. I ordered a device for my mother. Perfect condition, everything is new, untouched -  just the packaging is brown -ish.

it costs 89€ only and you will have the full warranty - better buy it directly from Amazon instead aimong for a used device in ebay.

Hi,

thanks you very much. I ordered the stick with the OTG Cable and a flirc USB.

But I have a  problem during the configuration process of the flirc USB. Its is the 2nd generation and this version might habt problems with a B&O Remote. I always get the info, that I have already learned the pressed button. Have contacted the flirc support and asked for help.

The 1st generation with my avant in the living room works fine.

Cheers

Mirco

Have you tried to upload the pre-programmed amazon firetv file on the flirc-usb. If you do that, no additional learning-process is necessary. The flirc usb shoild work right away.

I downloaded it directly on the flirc homepage. Just open the setup programm from flirc and upload the file to the usb flirc device.

It seems it is now integrated in the latest formware 2.3 (see picture in the post above)

This doesn't work for me.

But I found a solution. You can choose the Panasonic Setup Box PUC at the Avant and after that you can program all commands with the flirc software you want. Works fine...

cheers

Mirco
