A phone died so I replaced it yesterday with a Beocom 2 Mk1, its unrelated Mk1 charger/base (with the original phone wires cut off) and a Beoline Mk1 PSTN. There's also a DECT answerphone and a corded phone on the same wires that feed the Beoline. I only just bought the B&O items so I don't know their history.
Making Beocom calls is fine.
When someone calls the house all phones ring but the Beocom won't cut off the other phones' ringing when it's picked up/switched on.
Unplugging the DECT answerphone lets picking up the Beocom cut off the ringing and everything works normally.
Is this a problem that can be corrected or is it a characteristic?
A Very Warm Welcome to Beoworld.
Just to make sure I fully understand your problem are you saying if the DECT answerphone is NOT connected everything works correctly?
Also when you say DECT answerphone what type of answerphone are you talking about?
Regards Keith....
Hi Keith. Thanks for the welcome!
Yes, when the DECT answerphone, a BT Synergy 6500, is unplugged from the mains the Beocom and the regular wired phone work properly.
Everything also works normally when the Beocom's not the phone that's answered.
Is the BT Synergy 6500 base plugged into the BT master Socket or slave socket. The master socket will be the first socket connected to the incoming BT phone line?
The BT Master feeds a VDSL router. The cable then leads to the Beoline socket then to the answerphone socket and then to the wired phonesocket.
In an attempt to isolate potential causes for the problem I unplugged the Mk1 charger/base. As the phone leads to this had been cut off I had been told that it now acted just as a charger. Unplugging it gave the Beocom an engaged tone.
Does anyone know if this is this what would happen with any unplugged charger?
