Hi,

Now my CD50 is the CD player in my Beolab 5000 system. But the lack of direct access to a track is a pain! I know it's as rare as hens' teeth though!

Thanks!

Does your CD-50 have the remote control receiver built in,as it was'nt standard.

I used to have the receiver kit, saved for a future project, but the handsets are like gold dust!! Crop up on e.bay sometimes though.

I'll have a search in the vaults.

Thanks Nick. Will the receiver work with a Beolink 1000?

No - uses different codes. You could of course get a Beomaster 5500, attach the CD50 to it and then use the line out to the Beolab 5000 - probably cheaper and easier to find than the CD remote and board and also will work with a Beolink 1000. A few more connections though! Big Smile

Right then.

Peter! I already have a complete 5500 stack, complete with MCP and Beolink 1000!

But another Beomaster 5500 just for that? Laughing

I didn't say it was a very good idea, but it will be a lot easier than finding the bits you need! Smile

Peter's suggestion got me thinking, and I wondered if you could use a MCL AV kit. AKA MCL active extra speaker kit. This has three inputs,cd,tape and aux,and a variable line level output that you could connect to a spare input of the Beolab 5000.

This would not only give you expanded inputs for say i.pod etc,but would also provide remote control of the cd 50 and volume, using a Beolink 1000/Beo4.

Just a thought, but I'll keep looking for the cd remote adaptor kit anyway.

You could possibly use the tape connection as an output if using the MCL2AV as I believe that gives a line output. I might have an experiment with the one I have!

A kind member here is giving me an ir module to experiment on. I'll still have to figure out the codes/find a suitable handset.

Still looking, but also tinkering with alternative solutions too! I have a cd50,and it would be useful to operate it with BL1000 etc if possible.
