Good day,
I have bought locally a pair of S45-2 for my curiosity. First thing I did was to replace the capacitors and glue with Araldite the woofer magnets.
I find them a bit bright in the high range. On the other hand they indeed have nice imaging and without a doubt due to the uniphase strategy. I have home made speakers in a d'Apolito setup in a transmission line (a bit like the Thor speakers, but I made them in 2003 and was not yet aware of Thor). The Apolito setup is also good for imaging and to make a long story short: I am selling these S45-2 in perfect working condition and just 1 blemish on the bottom of 1 cabinet, see pictures below.
I was thinking of 220 euros and I am willing to discuss the price. Let me know if you are interested. I can make more pictures if needed.
Cabinet:
Speakers look good on both units:
Putting some Araldite glue on the outer rim of magnet on 4 locations to avoid a future slip of the magnet which seems common.
The filters in original state
Filters with good MKP capacitors installed of 15uF (as original)
The only small blemish on 1 cabinet on the bottom side
