I have an Old 7-40 Mk 2, it has always worked just fine for me, I moved house about 4 months ago and have just finished renovating the lounge and have plugged it all in
No DIce!
So i connect to the back of the device with an HDMI Cable through an adapter. the other end of this is the source of my signal a Yamaha Amplifier
The Tv Appears to power up, the little red standby lamp is on but will not respond to anything, i have tried switching it on and off, numerous times, changed the batteries in the remote control, NOTHING. I have looked trough a camera phone and the i can see the remote working just fine
The DVD open button is not even working at the bottom of the screen.
Does it sound Terminal, I would appreciate any advice that anyone can share.
Hi and welcome!
There are two reasons that I can think of:
- If a PINCODE has been added to the TV, this will be required when you switch if back on after being unplugged for 30 mins or more. The screen should prompt for the code however when you first turn it on again. Get it wrong more that 5 times and it shuts down for 3 hours. If you don't have the PINCODE you'll need to speak to whoever you purchased the TV from.
- The TV may be set to V.OPT 0, where it doesn't respond to the remote. To solve this, with the TV powered up, press the Power off (red) button and LIST together on your Beo4. The remote will display ADD?, whereupon you press LIST until OPTION? is displayed. Press GO and the display changes to V.OPT. Press '2' and the power LED on your TV should flash to acknowledge, and the TV should now work.
Good luck!
So the screen is blank, I have the pin number and its certainly not prompting for anything.
I have followed the Remote instructions but this does not seem to work either. When i select '2' the screen LED does not flash and the display on the remote bounces back around to 'TV'
Hmm, that's all I can think of! The remote is behaving correctly by displaying TV after option setting.
Perhaps someone else can suggest a solution - but it does now sound like a fault to me.
Thanks so much for your help, Maybe its time for a new TellyBox
Pat:Hi, Probably module 999 main chassis has to be replaced. First I would take the eeprom out and put it back, that sometimes helps, but not very often. One day the tv may start working out of the blue - I've seen it as well. The cheapest option - ebay - second hand screen.

Yes, dead processor board. I have just binned an otherwise fully working 7-32 on account of this. The same happens with Beosound 3000, they die totally, but with red std.by led on.
Maybe you can ask B&O what the price is to repair the TV, you cannot buy the module as spares because of the pincode functionality.
