I recently acquired a Beomaster 4000 (US version) that was dead on arrival. I traced the problem to the mains power switch (the switch lives behind the "off" toggle switch).
I removed the protective shroud and confirmed with my Ohmmeter that the switch is always open, even though it looks like the mechanism and spring work as they should. I soldered a jumper wire there and the unit fired up when i plugged it in. It sounds "tinny" so i'll be recapping it after solving this issue..
It looks like major surgery to get the switch out. I am guessing you need to remove the face plate which looks involved. Has anyone ever removed one of these? Probably similar on a Beomaster 3000.
Once out, can it be disassembled or do i simply need to find another switch someplace? It can't be a super common problem since i couldn't find a single hit on anything similar in this forum.
Thanks!
It's a 5-10 minute job.Desolder the wires.Carefully bend the four small tabs on the release rail up to vertical and wiggle the switch out.
Is this the same switch as yours:
