hi everyone,

This month my Beosound 3200 and Beosound 9000 decided to broke down. That is really sad!

HDD of the Beosound 3200 is not working anymore.....

Now the Beosound 9000 is not reading any CD.

Even if we have 2 B&O store in Montreal area, there is a problem with the service. No repairing for at least 2-3 months.

Anyway, i decided to try to repaitr my beosound 9000 by myself.

I had a spare Laser and replaced by following the steps on the manual.

Symptoms are the same: CD is trying to focus, however the motor is not spinning.

By doing TestMode 63, the motor starts to spin clockwise a little bit, but then it gous anti-clockwise really fast!

Any ideea what could be? I really love my Beosound 9000 and want it work again!

Thanks for any help!

What type is your 9000 ?

If it is MK3, then you 99% cannot find a "cheap" VAM1250 laser that works. You need a new kit from a B&O dealer.

I had a 9000 doing exactly the same, bought a new original laser assembly and replaced the old one, worked 100% after that again.

If it is a MK1-2, a replacement laser should be possible to find, however I have had a few of the "cheap" CDM12.4 lasers from ebay not working. Normally they do work though.

Rarely it is the servo PCB print next to the laser that dies, but I don't think that is the problem.
