i am setting up a home theater using 2 Beolab 5 as front and 2 Beolab 3 as rear. As I don’t have a B&O TV, what should I use for center speaker? I have an extra pair of Beolab 3 and was thinking of using it or a Beolab 7.2. What do you think would fit better? I am also looking for a recommendation on a compatible A/V receiver. I actually have a Denon AVR 3313 CI.
Hi,
according to this photo, your receiver has pre out connections:https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91mRBWRi2TL._SL1500_.jpg
You can connect your Beolabs through corresponding cables to Pre out. The Beolab 7-2 could need a control signal to switch on/off.
Steve from soundsheavenly here on the forum has all the cables you need - if he has not, he can build it for you.For simple aesthetical reasons I would choose the beolab 7-2 as a center speaker beneath your TV. It looks good mounted beneath a TV on the wall or on a rack with its stand and of course it sounds great.
Hi TWG and Alexandrercs (welcome to Beoworld, by the way!)
Yes, Beolab 7-2 is a good choice for a centre speaker, you can then use the extra pair of Beolab 3s as side surrounds if you wish. Please note that you will need a B&O remote (eg. Beo4) to activate the Beolab 5 speakers before use.
Here are the cables you need to connect the Beolab speakers to the pre-out sockets of your receiver:-
Beolab 5 speakers with RCA Line inputs:-

Please also add a Sync cable between the two Beolab 5 speakers to keep their volume levels matched:-

Beolab 3 speakers without RCA Line inputs:-

http://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/62--rca-7pd-super-.html (high-end cables, for the best performance)
Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch next to the input sockets. If you choose the “standard” cables, then you need one cable for a pair of speakers, if you choose the “high end” cables, you need two cables (one cable for each speaker).

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
Kind regards, Steve.
