beocenter 5000 cassette player

I recently purchesed a beocenter 5000, the tape deck did not wotk it kept shutting off a second or so after pressing tape button

I replace the belts and cleaned all residue but hen i put in a tape and press play there is just a hiss from speakers and no sound, i removed the tape and pressed play and get the same sound

I have cleaned the heads but this makes no difference, has anyone had the same problem
