hi all,

in regards to the beovision 7 32 MK5 from 2009 till it finished, the integral DVD player, was it a blue ray player on the MK5 32 inch or only on the 40 inch?

also want to know if you can actually record programs off freeview chanels in the uk on a recordable dvd disk on the integral DVD player in the beovision 7 32? or are they only playback DVD players only?

Hi lampy,

unfortunately the BeoVisions with 32 inch screen were only equipped with a DVD-playback device - no chance to play Blu-rays or to record something.

All the best

Marc

To record programs on a Beovision 7 the best way is to pick up a secondhand HDR2 hard disc recorder. I use this combination on my Beovision7 and you can even timer record from any video source in the TV and both TV and HDR2 are controlled from the same BEO 4 remote.

The 32" models never had Bluray because they didn't really need them, same as dvi/hdmi in that on a 32" screen you're not going to benefit from an HD signal particularly. This point can be argued of course but was the general thinking at the time. It was only the 40" models that had Bluray and it could be fitted from a Mk3 onwards as far as I remember. Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

thanks for the info, did any beovision 7 say the 40 inch version , did that have the means to record programs off the television? or were they all playback machines only?

only just really found this out, bit poor really not having a record facility on it?

what about hooking up a third party made  DVD recorder would that work?

werent the HDR2 machines only in analoge? so they would be no good? correct me if i'm wrong there., i know the DVD2 player only has an analoge record facilty so they are pretty useless today, well they are a useless player full stop as i have one, awfull  machine to get to work properly !
