I'm interested in connecting a second beogram turntable to my BeoMaster 5500 -- that is, if I can ever manage to screw the 2 data pins back in to the cable. I'm currently using the PHONO input with one beogram turntable. I'm using the AUX connection for a 1612 converter. I'm wondering if anyone has some knowledge or experience with how the various datalink connections can work.
Can the second beogram (which has an external pre-amp that is capable of a DIN datalink connection) be connected to another input such as A.TAPE and still be controlled via datalink? Or can only a beocord be used with the A.TAPE connection?
Can a second beogram be connected and controlled by datalink using the AUX connection?
I seem to recall about 20 years ago my dealer used a DIN Y-spitter with the AUX connection of a BeoSound 2300 that I had. The Y-splitter was used to connect both a beogram and a 1612 converter to the BeoSound 2300. Should that work or would there be interference of the data being communicated?
If your preamp is properly wired with regards to Datalink, you can connect it to the CD input (If you don’t already have one there). The CD is just another Beogram as far as Datalink is concerned.
