Ok, I know we are talking nearly 20 years of technology improvements between the BS35 and BL3500 but it doesn't really bother me as I can work around the tech.
Does the Beolab 3500 have enough output for a largish kitchen? or am I really better off spending the money (nearly 10 times) and get the BS35?
Thanks.

I hope someone answers this question soon, I'd be very interested to know as well.

Unless the kitchen is very very large, then the Beolab 3500 will have more than enough output

Hi Chris,
You're talking only about power, but you're aware that you compare a speaker (BeoLab 3500) with a system (BeoSound 35), aren't you ?
And that the BL3500 needs a wired source...
As someone that has owned both, I'd pick the BeoSound 35 over the Beolab 3500 just about every time without hesitation. Putting aside the technology improvements (Beolink v Masterlink; Bluetooth; digital in; no need for another source, app control, etc.), the sound quality is leaps and bounds better (in my opinion, for the way I listen to music). To my ears, the Beolab 3500 has the sound profile of a single Beolab 6000 whereas I'd equate the BeoSound 35 to a PAIR of BeoLab 8000s. And its not just the power level that I'm referring too. The BeoSound 35 is capable to reproducing noticeable low end punch (and thus yielding a much fuller range of sound) whereas the Beolab 3500 has virtually no low end by comparison. Also, I find the sound stage far superior with the BeoSound 35. In short, I would consider using the BeoSound 35 as a main audio setup where I wouldn't prefer to use the Beolab 3500 for the same. I've previously owned a Beolab 3500 and I presently own three BeoSound 35s. All that said, the Beolab 3500 is not a bad speaker by any means and is attractive at its current price point for a speaker with the BeoSound 35/Beolab 3500 form factor. I would certainly recommend the Beolab 3500 where its being integrated into a masterlink only environment, where it is to be used for passive listening (music on in the background), or where one primarily listens to music that doesn't benefit from a speaker with notable low end capabilities. However, the right choice for myself is the BeoSound 35, but everyone will certainly have different opinions on this.
I'm curious about these comparisons, too.
I have two bathrooms each with a BeoLab 3500. My goal is to replace them with proper NL speakers. I was thinking of replacing one with a BeoSound 35 and replacing the other with an extra BeoPlay A6 that I have. Has anyone compared the sound of a BeoPlay A6 to that of a BeoLab 3500?
The Beolab 3500 looks much classier in my view... but the sound is just mediocre. Soundwise Beosound 35, Design Beolab 3500.
Please excuse the kitchen as it is a work in progress but wondering if the sound will fill the room.
For some reason the edit tab does not work.

I was very surprised that the Beolab 3500 produces half the bass that a Beolab 6000 does. I would have thought that they would be the same. I don't see the logic in that.....still baffles me completely.
