Hi all,

So my BM4400 has been playing beautifully for months, but not long ago

Each time i switch on regardless of source  I have nothing in my  Right channel, tiny tiny sounds maybe..

I have switched Pre-Amp as I have a Spare, same issue.

The weird thing is, that if I quickly press "off" and then press any of the source its all fine and sound comes beautifully from both channels.

Same happens with headphones.

Everything else seems dandy, any clues?

thanks

/g

Most likely to be oxidation or dust/dirt in the front panel switch row.
Give the switches a shot of contact cleaner (the type that evaporates completely) and work the switches 10-20 times each (Beomaster unpowered).

Hi Martin,

First I thought..."can't be the cause , I have done that already for an hour,, no improvement, must be something more complex.."

But then I read your reply more carefully again..you write "contact cleaner that evaporates completely"

I took a look at my cleaner, and it is the type that leaves a oilfilm... (see the difference in the picture) I then got the other type, and did as instructed, and the result is totally different, problem literally "solved"

Again my 4400 plays with impressive ompf and precision from both channels, my alltime favourite.

Many thanks again Martin, truly expert advice.
