Hi guys

I have acquired a 'working' 7-40 but it wont turn on

Red 'standby' light is on

DVD tray opens

Screen stays black and no dvd, dtv tv etc indicator lighting up. Its currently sat on the floor next to my 7-32 which works fine so I know my remotes are ok. Does it need to be on a stand to work?

Any ideas greatly received!

Cheers

Maybe the IR on the BV-7 is set to option 0?

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.

Yep! That sorted it, thank you.

For anyone else;

Beo4 hold red button and press list.

Left double arrow until 'option' appears

Press button 1

The TV had been 'locked' to previous owners remote

Hi I’m having the exact same problems.

ive just swapped my old BEO7-40 as the screen was broke.

It was used as my master Tv so all my tv’s in the house wouldn’t work.

For a quick fix fix I found the exact model 2nd hand connected it the tv in other rooms worked fine. But the master tv won’t work with my remotes at all.

ive tried your way & also changing mode’s plus also using options - v-Opt selving 1 & 2. with no luck at all.

i took all wires & sockets out, replaced them but no sky won’t work in my link rooms!
