I have bought a Beogram 3000 with a Technics turntable that is connected to the TP 2 connection (it has a pre amp) and I would like to connect my Onkyo CD Player as well. Can somebody assist me in advising me if I can connect it to the phono connection and what the DIN to phono plug connection will be.

thank you

peter

Hi Peter and welcome to Beoworld,

which Beo... 3000 do you have exactly, is it a Beomaster 3000? The 1980's or 1970's model?

1980: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=339

1970: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=336

Does your Technics turntable has only the pre amp output or an additional standard phono output, too?
The Onkyo is a nice machine! Which Technics turntable do you have?

On the 1970 Beomaster 3000 you might need an Y-cable to connect both devices to the Tape 2 input as the phono input can't be used for standard audio signals from CD players, media players, etc.
Someone with greater knowledge than me can tell you if the signal through an y-cable input could interfere the phono pre amp of the Technics turntable.

The 1980 Beomaster 3000 has two Tape inputs, so you can easily connect both of your devices to Tape 1 and Tape 2 input.

Hi TWG

Thank you for the prompt reply. I am new to this and would love to go back to stereo

The Beomaster 3000 is a 1980 model - a true work of artistic design

I have two tape inputs and will use the one with the Din plug for the CD player as i am using the Tape connections with the RCA for the Technics SL-3 Linear tracking turntable

I hope this works but will have to construct a cable with din plug and CD RCA connection cable - I am not sure of the connection configuration.

Once agiain thank you

kind regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

yes, many of the older B&O products are simply marvellous components. Enjoy it!

If you are unsure about the cable just ask Steve from steve sounds heavenly here on the forum.
He can make all the cables you need in every length you need.
