Hello everyone,
I have a B&O 9000 (hope this qualifies as vintage but it's over 10 years old). Due to remodelling a house and no room, I have stored it for about 5 years, flat. When I put it again on the vertical stand, it works but there is a noise and the face of the CD seems to scratch against the moving head. It scratches up to the point where the disc name and track headings get scratched. it also makes an uncool noise.
Ì have checked but the drive mechanism screws are the right position (b) for working vertical on the stand.
Has anyone encountered this problem and have an idea to solve it?

HI
Maybe if you check correct spring adjustment on cd mrchanism, will help.
It is located on the back side of the unit.
Check instuctions manual.
I have done that and put the right setting as per attached but this does not solve the problem...
Hi Paul,
Check Clamper parallelism with main plate. You can adjust clamper height by means of two very littles Allen/BTR screws each side at the top of the clamper (opposite round side).
Dont know if it's directly related as I did hear that noise on two units and was able to fix it without touching that part, but you can search the forum about "rocker arm". I think it is responsible for some scratching noises, but if i recall well, it's more when the carriage is moving - can't know for sure.
