First of all, hello from the Great White North.

I recently purchased a 1984 Beogram RX and I am having a blast with it. It is like revisiting my youth when I considered B&O the holy grail.  I love exploring my old vinyl records again. The RX seems to be in great shape, hardly any wear and aging marks on it.

I have one issue that I would like to address. Sometime the tone arm does not move to the left enough. It reaches the outer edge of the record (both 33 and 45) and fails to catch the lead groove. It then falls of the record. It does not happen all the time but it seems to me that I need to adjust the arm slightly to the left. As far as I can tell, the weight is set correctly. I tried adjusting it but it made no difference,

I was also considering the fact that it might be dirty and/or needs some lubrication. After all, it's 33 years old and my guess is that it has not seen much action. I presume that I will have to remove the turn plate. Before I start yanking and pulling I would like to verify how to do this.
