Hi all,

Getting a bit frustrated trying to remove the key pad buttons on a newly acquired MCP6500

The PCBs seem to be held in by two of these clips but I’m not sure how to remove them.

Any suggestions would be great as I don’t want to break them!

A small flat-bladed screwdriver in between the peg and the board, and pry it up.
Lift one side at a time.

- Oh, and take a photo of the button layout before you take it apart...

All back together and working!

The volume wheel lubrication had seized up so needed to clean the bearings but in doing so found the optical tape round the volume control had come off.

I sprayed the back of the tape white as some had stuck to the wheel then used spray adhesive to reattach it.

Also found that there was some battery corrosion on one of the IR sensors so cleaned it as well as I could.
