My BeoCom 5 handset appears to have died — the second time this has happened to me, and, I suspect, for the same reason (the battery has given out). I'm therefore in the market for a new BeoCom and am thinking of going back to the BeoCom 2.
However, when I had a 2, the bottom part of the phone acquired a rather ugly patina — a mass of fine scratches and scrapes from being handled. Do all BeoCom 2 colours have the same matt metal finish that tarnishes easily, or did some come with a more durable glossy finish?
There were indeed glossy finishes such as a glossy blue, red, gold, gunmetal grey, etc. However, they get easily scratched, too. My cleaning maid has knocked over far too many.

Hiort:I have 3 in anodized (matte) finish and they are not scratched after all years.
I also have 2 anodised BC2 which look none the wore for wear and I have them a long time.
The 6000s are hard to beat for value and durability the Beocom line up.
Have a blue with wallcharger to sell if you want
Thanks Hiort! My dealer has a box of old phones, and thinks he may have a BeoCom 2 or two in there, but if not I'll give you a shout!
