I recently acquired a Beocenter 9000 (USA model approx 1988). Nearly ALL functions work: CD, tape playing, radio, both channels stereo, remote works good, all lights function. The CD door was balky and I know the belts slip (2 are on order). Fuses are all good, none blown ever.
Suddenly, the cassette tape door stopped opening but it's not the belt - the motor wasn't turning as it had. I applied 12VDC to the motor - spins fine both directions. It seems to be the touch control or something in the path of the touch control to the motor. Both motors run off the same connector on PCB 45 but the CD door motor works. Strings and mechanism fine, sliders lubed, so that's been done. I'm experienced with electronic repair and tape decks but this has me stumped.
I did disconnect and reconnect the brown motor voltage connector on PCB 45. Really impossible to remove PCB 45 to inspect underneath. PCB 41 (controls at lower left) was removed and inspected - no bad joints. Do the transistors there fail TR8?
This unit is so nearly perfect - I'm hoping to get this problem solved. Thanks for any advice from folks who know the 9000 and maybe have seen this problem.
