Hi All,As I understand beogram 5500 does not have build in pre-amp. Will it work with beomaster 6500 or I should look to get BM5500?Thanks!

A BM6500 and BM7000 don't have the RIAA pre-amplifier . It was an option at the time they were sold. A small PCB board was vertically placed inside the BM6500 or BM7000. They are rare.
A BM5500 will fit nicely with your BG5500, but hasn't the popular powerlinksockets.
So I wont be able to connect powered speakers such as BL3500 unless using AUX connectors?
I would suggest getting a BC9500 - will work with the 5500 Beogram and is much nicer to use. Not quite as powerful, though not so you would notice and has powerlink sockets - IMHO the best piece of B&O audio equipment made.

Thank you Peter for you suggestion! I was actually contemplating the same but was not sure if BC9500 had pre-amp..Would 9000 and 9300 work as well?
