Beocord 1900 stuck pause

Hi all, 

I have recently picked up a beocord 1900, all features appear to work but the pause button has stuck down! I took off the service panel and cant see anything obvious, the button will go down about 2mm but that won't release the mechanism.

Wondering if this is a common issue and easily fixable? The service manuals online aren't helpful as they are for beocord 1500 too, the pause mechanism looks completely different to that in the manual.

Appreciate any help or advice
