Beovision Avant vcr 32 issue with games consoles

Hi all, first time posting so please let me know if I've missed something but i cant find info within beoworld on this issue I'm having.  

I have recently bought an old avant (vcr 32inch real flat) for the sole purpose of playing some older games consoles i have including a PlayStation 2 and a set of light guns. 

when playing with these guns i find the bottom couple of inches of the screen and say a half inch to the left side of the screen do not register the "shots" from the light guns - so im having hit detection problems. the only visual cue that there is something wrong with the image is that in the bottom left corner the edge of the picture is not straight, it warps inwards slightly.  

i was wondering if could make adjustments to rectify this in the service menu but i have no real knowledge of how to do this and if its even possible.

i read on a gaming page that people have no light gun issues with the avants as they are 100htz, this confuses me as my avant is a 50/60hz, i assumed they all would be?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
