Hi all!
My dust cover/lid on my white 6500 is cracked to a point where it needs to be replaced. Similar covers of Beogram models (5500, 5005, 5000, etc.) look similar, however not sure if these are essentially the same cover as the 6500. If so, it would be a lot easier to acquire a replacement as I rarely see the 6500 out there. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
All the Type 59xx lids are interchangeable despite their aesthetic and apparent physical differences.
It is possible, with care, to remove the decorative panel and replace it with a white anodised aluminium one!
The panel is fixed on with double sided tape.
White anodised panels used to be available on ebay back in my day, although they were marginally thicker and hence very slightly heavier. They lid remained up when lifted despite the extra weight.
Regards Graham
Hi Graham,
I appreciate the quick and thorough response! Do you mean 50xx lids? Just wanted to make sure as I saw you typed 59xx. Fairly new the BO world.
So that white panel that is part of the dust cover is actually just adhered to the top of the clear cover? I've just searched quite a bit for a replacement anodized aluminum one that you spoke of but did not see any anywhere anymore.
Thanks again!
Hi Adam
Type 59xx means all tangential Beograms from the mid 80’ and forward.... Beogram 3000, 3500, 4500, 5005, 5500, 6500, 7000, 8500 and 9500
although Only 5500, 6500 and 7000 were available in white.

Thank you!
