Everyone is entitled to an opinion but that's a shithouse looking product. A2 sales are crap so bring a similar speaker into the mix only to be flogged off to discounter less than 12 months after release
So does microphone built-in imply that voice control is also built into this speaker?
Where are the "David Lewis Designers" when B&O really needs them? ;)
But let's just wait until we can see it live before judging.
I have a hard time believing this is an actual product designed by Cecilie Manz — looks like the ugly baby of A1 and A2.

Seems right!
As always - some will like it, others not.
I’ll wait to hear it.
Look better in black imo.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Given its a "P" range speaker, i suspect it will lack Wifi.
In which case, no mulit-room i guess.
But interesting to see the built in microphone. I believe everything released going forward from B&O will have in built microphones, as voice integration is increasingly pushed forward.
Voice integration is probably the one thing that would get me buying the B&O range of speakers again. Has to be a good version though!!
Peter
It is a BT speaker!
Even if there is a built-in microphone, I can’t image that that will provide voice integration.
For that it will need wifi/to be online. Talking to the sending smartphone will do the job, I guess.
The A2 has a microphone too....for conference calls.
So - keep asking the dealers when it will arrive....then we will be wiser.
(John o’ Manchester - com’on, give it a go).
Sorry - I meant ‘the A1 has a microphone’.
My guess is, that it will be twice the price of an A1.

Than it will be as expensive as a Beolit 17...
If it is as good...
Good grief! Have they got Interns or even Schoolkids doing these things now! - "What we want is a perforated facia like this, with a leather strap like that one but in a noticeably different shape. Needn't look good, just different. Thanks"
Ban boring signatures!

Agree, it looks like a cross between an electric shaver and a toaster. Maybe B&O is outsourcing styling to the Chinese in addition to everything else.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

And just another disposable item that will be forgotten in less than 5 years.. Why is it called P6 and not .. P2? What is the difference between an A, a P and a S in the BeoPlay range? I'm completely lost..
I miss the old days when your only dilemma was to choose between MX and LX, BeoLab and BeoVox, and BeoCenter or BeoSystem.
Who needs another speaker? Bring me a BeoPlay V2, at least I need that.
A P speaker is a Beolit without a battery or with something else? Or is that an M?
What's an A speaker? The one I've got was a docking thing for an iPad.
This range is confusing. Where is an actual DAB /FM radio?
Yes. I'd love to see a V2 tv. I don't need one but I am prepared to be sold one.

but marketing will drip feed all the exciting ideas. Having said that, I've been in market research with car customers and it's pretty dispiriting when they say all they want is a dark grey interior.
To me the design is a little blah, but I generally like the potential use case. I very much enjoy using a pair of A1's in stereo, but have long thought that they could be improved for stereo imaging if the design was stand up vs. flat (I've hung them and that works decently well, but it's not a practical avenue for many listening locations). As such, even as a current owner of something similar, I'm interested in this.
That being said, I think I'll need to see final spec details, in addition of course to hearing it in person, before making final judgment. What's been posted here suggests a dual sided A1 at the price point of an A2, at a physical size in between those 2 but with shorter battery life than both of those. If that's all true, it will be interesting to see how they position it in the line if they continue selling both of the others.
For me, the use case(?) is similar to the other Beoplay speakers in that it's another 360degree speaker that cannot be put on a shelf too near to a wall. What's wrong with creating a flat speaker for the kitchen or even bathroom?

The P speaker currently in the range is single sided but this looks double sided? (360 degrees )
It seems clear they feel like the dual sided "360" feature is an important selling point for this kind of speaker. To me it's less useful and I would also prefer the ability to have a software setting that would allow for toggling single vs dual sided for a cleaner focus on sound from one side. I do recognize, however, that for the vast, vast majority of buyers, they're acquiring just one and therefore the omnidirectional nature is attractive. I can also see how the settings toggle sounds like a good idea, but might create far more complexity in terms of how that translates to design and, of course, customer service headaches for people who accidentally hit the toggle and then think the speaker is broken.
That being said, if the bass performance is on par with the A1's, I'll likely jump in with 2 for stereo and just roll with the rear dispersion. My uses are almost always in free space, so I don't have to deal with close rear wall reflections. Some of the enjoyment is sitting down in a part of the house of the outdoor patio space where I haven't created an dedicated stereo speaker setup for that seating position, but where it really shines is travel. In that use case, I can take a quality audio solution with me that is totally wireless such that wherever I stay I can more fully enjoy listening.
