Hello everybody,

I have purchased from ebay a beovison mx4000 that is stuck in hotel mode. The menu button is disabled so i can't acces service menu to diable BTB(Business to Business-mx4200). In Service mode (shortcircuit jumper) I don't see any option regarding Hotel Mode(BTB). I have the service manual. Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks !

I wasn't aware that an MX4000 can have a 'hotel mode' - is it fitted with an extra module to do this?  (In which case, have you tried removing it?)

Are you using a normal remote, Beo4 or BL1000?  If you are using a 'hotel' remote you may find that this is the limitation - i.e the menu button does not work as it normally would.

Thanks for the answer! Big Smile

I use a Beo4 replica remote by Konig bought from Germany. It is advertised as having 100% the functions of the original Beo4. I didn't know about the hotel module. That might be the case because the tv was sold as locked in hotel mode and without remote control. Do you have any ideea where this module might be? Have a nice day.

A friend recently bought a Tv by Samsung or something which he discovered was in hotel mode. There is a pin code he learned can be reset.

The B2B Hotel Module is an actual physical module. The software capabilities at B&O weren't that advanced back then, so any special changes involved a module.

I've never 'castrated' a hotel MX, but i've done plenty (around 250+) BeoVision 6's - and once you've removed the B2B (Hotel) module it works as a normal version.  It did involve removing the back of the TV, but it wasn't too difficult.

** Caveat ** Always get an approved B&O engineer to do repairs, modifications and alterations to any B&O TV. They involve high current electrical components and can cause electric shocks, nasty surprises and even death, etc etc... **

Thank you Lee !

I thought it was a physical part but i don't think there is a B&O engineer here in Romania where i live. I have a neighbour who does old crt tv repairs. Maybe if i can point him the module he can help. I have the service manual. Tv was made in 1999-2000 type 8720. Was that module specified in the service manual of BeoVision 6? Maybe someone can direct me to the location of that module. Have a nice day !

I did find the BeoVison 6 manual and there is a chapter aboud the btb module. Can't find any mention of it in the Mx4000 manual. I guess i'm living it as it is. Thanks everybody !

Hello. First of all introduce myself and give thanks for such an usefull forum.

I own one Mx4000 that has same issue that the one from de OP. Everything seems to work, but Menu button is dissabled. Originally came from a redicence hall, so it probably has some "hotel block". Anyone knows how can I unlock it?

My remote is an original Beo4 (mark iii) but I think is 100% compatible altought TV model is older.

For what I've ridden here maybe this hotel lock is an extra hardware part, but I removed back part and nothing strange seems to be attached. Anyone can help me locate it??

Thanks.
