Good afternoon,

I have the following problem.

My TV is connected to the wall power and the red led (stand-by light) is on.

Switching on the TV, it shows the two green leds in the bottom corners on, but it shuts off immediately.

Can you please give me some sort of orientation to start recovering this tv set?

Thank you very much!

Please double check the model No of your tv,as the MX4000 doesn't have any "green lights at the bottom"?Is your tv 21" or 28" screen? If 28" it could be an MX7000,which does have some extra lights in the lower grille which illuminate when the set powers up.

The standby light should change colour when the set powers up,but if your's is then switching off again,it suggests the tv self protection system is being triggered at start up.

This could be due to  many things within the set,but is most commonly due to a failed transistor in the eht/deflection stage.

If you are not familiar with tv repair work DON'T GO THERE!!! It's dangerous inside TV's particulary for newbies!

Try and find a local tv repairer with B&O expertise, the set is well worth repairing.

Regards,

Nick

Good morning,

I am sorry for the mistake. My model is the MX7000 28''.

I have knowledge about electronics, but not high voltage area :(  ...

I know how to discharge a tv/crt monitor and to remove safely the anode cap.

Do you think it cold be the horizontal output transistor? - I can easily measure/change/test  a transistor or the capacitors near it...

Thank you for the rapid answer!

Cheers.

Ah yes,a fine tv,with excellent sound too.You can in fact use it just as an amplifier,it can be configured to switch on without the picture,so you could connect a Bluetooth receiver for down loaded music. You can even connect headphones!

I'll e.mail the details about possible things to check.

Regards,

Nick
