Hello all,
I have a pair of Beolab 8000 (MK3) connected to a (new to me) Onkyo NR-709 via which I view AppleTV content. I want to get some nice surround speakers to go with the set-up.
Do you have any thought on nice looking and good sounding speakers that can go well with the 8000's that doesn't cost a fortune? Looking for a center and two rear speakers. Preferably nothing to new as I'd prefer to buy used. Located in Scandinavia if that matters.
Thanks
Try Beolab 6000.
They do not cost much these days and they were the recommend rear setup for Beovision AV9000 and the sound is really great in combination.
For center you can get Beolab centers but I forget the model.
Get BL 7.4 for center, and pair of BL4000 for rears. Both excellent speakers, and at very convenient price on 2nd hand market.
You'll not regret.

I would second the 4000s - although a bit of a waste! Really good smaller speakers.

Thank you for your suggestions. I didn’t have B&O in mind when I made the post, been looking a bit at Kefs Eggs. However I do like the 4000s. What do yo think of the Beolab 4’s? They seem to be a bit cheaper. And can I have the Link 3500 as a center (my quick googling suggests it might be difficult)?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
leogoeswild:I would go for the 6000’s They look like they belong together with the 8000’s
The 6000's won't work in my living room as the speakers I need need to be wall mounted. I know the 6000's can be wall mounted but it will make it too expensive, and I'm not sure how good it would look.
I use BL4000 as rear speakers with the dedicated alu stand in the past and I never like the surround effect. Recently I moved the 4000 to 4/5 feet above the head position and the improvement is night and day. So yes, I strongly suggest 4000 as rear not to mentioned they can be angled to the ideal position.
