i have a Beosound 3200 and was considering the connection to Sonos connect to update it but having read an old forum question I’m not sure it is the best option. I want to be able to play my CD’s through the multi room system too but am confused whether or not I can connect in this way.

i know I can link up the Sonos Connect to the aux in but can I output the 3200 to the Connect? Can I use one of the Powerlink speaker sockets and plug in to the Connect?

presumably the other option is the purchase of. B&O Core.

thanks

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

The AUX input on the BS3200 is an output as well as in input.  It will deliver whatever the Beosound is playing, at line level over the output pins.

You'd need something like this to connect to the Sonos: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/kenable-Phono-Plugs-Audio-Cable-Black/dp/B00M0FXP64/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=din+to+for+phono&qid=1563377430&s=gateway&sr=8-5

(EDIT: That link was clearly a very cheap cable to illustrate what was required.  I'd probably go for a better quality version from our site sponsor, here: https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/154-2336-5-pin-din-to-4-x-rca-input-and-output-cable-for-bo-naim-quad.html#/2-length-1m)
