Hi,

I have a Beocord 2000 Type 2923 that emits a buzz whether a cassette is playing or not. When playing, the meter sits only a -2db.

The sound changes when I touch different grounded parts of the player, so I'm thinking this might be a grounding issue?

I've touched up a few questionable solder points no success. I've also noticed if I touch around R110 or IC10 (MC1458CP amplifier) I can get the meter to increase to 0db.

If anyone is aware of common issues with this model, please let me know. Thank you for your time!

Check the 8Vref voltage. If down replace the related capacitors on the Dolby board.
Also check 1IC7 (TL072CP). It's a known troublemaker.

Thank you for your reply Martin. Looks like the culprit might be C208 and C408 (10v 220uf). Going to replace these and hope I get audio.
