I'm a fan of the wheely essence remote. Does anyone know whether it can be paired directly with the Beovision Eclipse and the Beovision 14 to control volume?

You can probably pair it via bluetooth?

If not, stick it on IR mode to do standby, volume, next, previous, radio and cd...

The Beointegration web page has the document that shows the different settings for the Essence Remote to use it with different products. One of the options refers to Beovisions that are being controlled with a Beoremote 1.

I dont think Essence remote will work with Eclipse. Because the BeoVision Eclipse only have Bluetooth remote mode, its not work with IR and the Beovision mode in beoremote one is for IR like BV 11, 12, (system4), beoplay V1. The Beoremote one in bluetooth mode is the only controll for eclipse.

I dont think Eclipse is compatibly to the essence remote in BT mode. If it is, let me know=) i dont think it works. but if you have the eclipse and essence remote try to pair it up and see.

The Beoremote One can also work with Beosound Essence in bluetooth mode? Right? Never tried a Beoremote one, just a guess. As far as I understand the Beoremote One also works with BV14 and Horizon - these do not have IR.

If a BR1 shall work with an ir-based product (e.g. a BV11) it must be put into ir-mode.

To work with a BT-based tv it must use BT-mode - and be paired with it.

You can use a BR1 with the Essence, if this has an ir-eye connected....and the BR1 is in ir-mode.

ah okay, same way as using a beo4/beolink1000. Through a BS Essence and BR1 both have bluetooth, it is not possible to use it that way?

Hi Mike,

The Essence remote is such a great design and I'm quite a fan of it also!

Yes, I have tried and tested pairing it to a BeoVision Eclipse and it does work due to the Sound Centre part of the television having the same internal software as the multi-room products.

The Essence remote will allow you basic functions such as volume control, skipping tracks/channels and muting the sound

To pair the Essence remote via the Eclipse can be done in three ways - one of them is by holding down the Bluetooth pairing button (left side beneath Sound Centre), secondly we can go into the bluetooth pairing menu in the settings of the Eclipse and lastly we can log onto the IP address of the SoundCenter and pair via remote control Bluetooth.

I'm uncertain if it will work with the BeoVision 14, only just due to the fact I've never tested it. I do have a Horizon which I can test the same pairing on - should be the same way to pair to a 14 as it uses the same software platform.

Thanks

Vish

@Vish

Thanks for testing - that’s great.

But doesn’t it also allow for the Join command?

Please let us know about your results with the BV14 and the Essence Remote.

Would be nice, if these function were a bit more documented from B&O.

I guess a big wish from a lot of costumers would be that the BR1/BT could work with the NL-audioproducts such as the M5, the Essence etc etc, too.

But that is for another thread.

@MM

No worries - always happy to look into testing new ways of using the equipment!

So the Join function toggles the sources once connected to the Eclipse - for example if I'm on LIVE TV on the Eclipse I can change channels via the Essence Remote with the left and right navigation and if I press the "join" button (top button on the Essence) it will then toggle through the internal sources on the Eclipse so if I'm on LIVE TV it then changes to PHOTOS & VIDEOS.

I've also tried to pair the Essence remote to the Horizon platform however :( unfortunately it doesn't seem to work so I guess it is not supported on the BeoVision 14 either.

If I'm being honest, there is are so many features/configurations that we can achieve with B&O equipment creating a manual for all of them would be out of this world!

I would have to say - if you'd like to know any further info, it is just more straightforward to get in contact with your local dealer :) we're always open to new ideas!

Ha, ha - unfortunately most dealers aren’t very neerdy about these things.

Mostly dealers know the straight forward things - which is quite understandable imo.

I do am ‘in contact’ with my local dealer.....often he asks me ’the nerdy things’ 😉

(Or I ‘force him’ to look for infos, that are already accessible)

My experience however, is that - if you want to learn about the ‘hidden features’/the nerdy stuff - you’d better do it on a forum like Beoworld.

P.S. Your findings about the Essence Remote and the Eclipse can be very usefull to Eclipse owners.

And it shows that the BV Eclipse is a true B&O-tv....in its own ways.

Hi,

Apologies in the delay in my response, I haven't checked this recently!

I have looked into this with no real success - unfortunately.

After asking the question and trying to push for an answers - I've received a lot of shrugs and uncertainty.

Currently, the answer is that they're incompatible but don't worry your thoughts have been heard/voiced!

Should I get an update on this I shall post about it.

I think it's a valid point that; most, if not all "MasterLink" products, had functionality to be used with the Beo4 remote. So it would be great if the "Network Link" products could do the same with the new BT BeoRemote One.

Thanks

Hi!

I have some great news - you can now pair BeoRemote One (Bluetooth) to the Multiroom (NL Products)

To do this you will need to open for pairing as you would the same as the Essence remote, either through the IP address of the speaker or via the "Configure" button in the B&O App. Then you do the same on the BeoRemote One (BT) open for pairing and once paired, all sources available through the device are shown on the "MUSIC" list (even your favourited radio stations are displayed- via TuneIN).

The BeoRemote One gives you full functionality, source changes, volume, pause/play/forward and rewind.

I hope this helps !

Thanks, Vish.

Have you heard anything about when the LIGHT/CONTROL commands will work via bluetooth with the BeoRemote One BT and NL audio products? They appear on the remote, but pressing them has no effect on the BLGW.

Hi Mike,

From my experience with working with the BLGW, it is quite hard finding the correct Light/Command commands "blindly" to assign to Macros.

I believe there is an option to capture the commands you send to the BLGW via the BeoRemote One - let me look into this further for you to find the guide on how to capture the command your sending. so you can find the correct command to assign to a macro for yourself.

As you can imagine this is such a busy time for us, so please bare with my responses.

Thanks,

Vish

Hi Jeff,

After your post and seeing this on the BR One (BT) once paired to an ASE product - it did in fact make me think there must be more to this remote pairing than just basic control of media (for example, source change and volume etc).

Technically, all of the above is not "supported" through B&O and is in the "roadmap" to have official support hence why there is no documentation on this however if you were to log onto your ASE products IP address or go onto the B&O app and go into (PRODUCT SETTINGS) and (CONFIGURE) - go into (SETTINGS) > (BEOLINK) > (BLGW) and then you'll be able to select your GW as a product to link to your ASE.

Now I'm unable to test any further as I currently do not have a GW and all of this information as previously mentioned is not guaranteed to work and is not supported but I would imagine the next step is to capture the commands on your GW and assign them to a Macro to fire other commands you've programmed.

Would be v interesting to see what you discover, so if you wouldnt mind letting me know!

Hope this has been helpful

Thanks

Vish
