Hello !
I recently got my hands on a pair of Beolab 8000 and I would like to change the fret. I got the service manual where it explains the differents movements to make, but there are no words about the top of the cylinder, as there are also a black part of the fret. Is that something that goes of with the procedure on the service manual ?
I read the differents posts of the forum, but I lack of a good explanation, ideally with pictures...
Cheers,
Serge
I do it by sliding the fret up 3 or 4 cm by pushing from the bottom, then levering the side off from the exposed edge from the top.
Thanks for the answer !
I tried it, but there was too much resistance... do we need to remove the aluminium "cap" at the top of the speaker ? I dont see how it is possible to slide the fret part to the top without this part moving at all... This is not mentionned in the service manual.
I am lost :)
No need to remove "cap". On each side of the frets, there are abt 10 plastic clips. You must carefully release clips on both sides, and finally
slide fret upwards , all the way up (you must have enough height in the room)
Sorry,I have not taken any photos...

Don’t you have the service manual ?
Everything you need to know is right there. The Beomaster 8000 is a joy to work on once you know what to do (ie study the SM, do the homework!).
Good luck!
