My mk3 beovision 7 32 has developed a fault on the surround (DSM) module. The power link centre connections are still working fine, but none of the DSM outputs are working. I've also noticed that the sound menu has simplified and only basic volume, treble and bass settings are available - none of the speaker settings show up any more. The service manual indicates a faulty DSM module (PCB32).
I'm not sure if this part is available any more, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience of working on this circuit? If so what are the major issues I should be looking for? I've yet to take a look at the board, so I'm not sure how easy it will be to work on - im hoping it's not all suface mount components and that I may be able to attempt a repair.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I think I have several boards laying here around.
Just pm me.
It might be just the software (probably version 2.5), but to be sure changing the board solves probably the problem.
The diagrams are the same as the ones used in to avant DD/DTS versions.
Thanks Beobuddy - just to confirm I am running the latest software versions for the Beovision - I had both the main software (so I could integrate with my MLGW) and the DSM software updated to most recent available specifications about 2 years ago
So, that means that you have 7.94 and 3.01 for the DSM?
Which number is printed on your DSM board A6143052 and 8001196 on the white label?
Hi Beobuddy- I haven't had a chance to open the to up as yet, but checking the service menu I can confirm I'm running software 7.94. As the DSM has failed it is not displaying the software version for that, but the guys at the B&O store assured me it was the latest version (I'm aware of the limitations of the previous DSM software versions)
I'll try to get a look at the DSM board soon and report back
Hi Beobuddy- I finally had a chance to whip the back off the tv tonight. On removing the DSM I can report the board is indeed part number 8001196, but the second number (presumably serial number) is 74580134. Hope that helps?
