Hi everyone

First of all I apologise for buying a generic remote control for my free b&o TV. Just finances that's all.

For some reason when I press the menu button in order to the the tv all i keep getting is a screen that says

Tv set (in a box top left hand)

With two what looks like pictures of leads going down to

1 v. TAPE-1 / NEW

2 V.TAPE-2 / NEW

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

The generic remote is a  classic irc81181

Thank you in advance

Jamie

I don't know the MX nor other earlier BVs.

The one I bought for $180 failed within 1 hour and the repair costs were astronomical.

Does the aerial tuner work ? Are you receiving analogue TV broadcasts if they exist in your area ?

What are the connectors on the back ?

Are they SCART ?

Any others ?

Do you have a set top box or a VCR or a DVD player that match those connection(s).

Hi Jamie,

Did you solve the problem? i own a mx3500 with a beo4 remote and experience the same problem.

Thanks,
Daan

Hi Daan,

That menu is the connections menu.

The MX3500’s own internal tuner will only receive analog broadcasts, of which there are no more in the UK. Not sure where you’re trying to use yours.

To watch something you need to get a separate set-top box with a SCART output, connect that to one of the inputs of the TV, then use that menu described by Jamze to tell the TV what device you have connected.

Hope this helps.

Hi Lawrence - it's been discussed here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/14476/260657.aspx#260657

and hopefully resolved!
